Hartwell was so anxious and pumped up to get started, he officially kicked off his quest Tues. June 16th at 2:00pm. His start location was at the beginning of the Vermont- MA Trail head. He completed sections one and two up to Arlington West Ward Road, which was a 38 mile completion. He finished at 10:30pm in good physical condition. The weather conditions he confronted were extremely bad. He battled a slippery muddy trail, fallen trees, and a combo of black flies and mosquitoes. When he finally arrived at the camp site last night, he was covered with mud. His dad said he looked like "a mud monster descending on them from the woods". He got on the trail this morning at 6:30am and his first stop will be Prospect Rock. His goal today is to reach "Sherbouren" which will be a 63 mile attempt. So far all is on schedule but more storms and rain are predicted for today's long trek. ---------------------------- Forwarded with Changes --------------------------- From: Gay Hartwell at DTT.ICSD.CORPORATE -
